The GCC package has a default conf option of disabling libquadmath and
the toolchain dependencies selectively enabled it if i386 / x64.

This patch fixes a build failure when (GCC + glibc) is being built for
the IBM Power8 arch and has libgfortran enabled + libquadmath disabled.
The libgfortran has a code condition for __float128 and includes the
quadmath headers. The bug occurs because Power8 has emulated
float128 support. The fix per GCC options is to also set
--disable-libquadmath-support which disables the
__float128/libquadmath support in gcc/fortran and in libgfortran [1].
Another option to fix the build failure was to enable libquadmath for
IBM Power8 (ISA 2.07), however this would be soft float based as the
ISA 3.0+ (Power9) first supports native float128 [2][3].

Buildroot is a simple, efficient and easy-to-use tool to generate embedded Linux systems through cross-compilation. The documentation can be found in docs/manual. You can generate a text document with 'make manual-text' and read output/docs/manual/manual.text. Online documentation can be found at http://buildroot.org/docs.html To build and use the buildroot stuff, do the following: 1) run 'make menuconfig' 2) select the target architecture and the packages you wish to compile 3) run 'make' 4) wait while it compiles 5) find the kernel, bootloader, root filesystem, etc. in output/images You do not need to be root to build or run buildroot. Have fun! Buildroot comes with a basic configuration for a number of boards. Run 'make list-defconfigs' to view the list of provided configurations.
