opencv4 is not fully backward compatible with opencv3 as "a lot of C API from OpenCV 1.x has been removed.": https://opencv.org/opencv-4-0. Moreover, it should be noted that layout of include files as well as pkg-config filename changed sincea956732874All these changes mean that most of buildroot packages (e.g. vlc, ffmpeg) are not compatible with opencv4. Here is the most important changes between opencv3 and opencv 4.5.1: - License is Apache-2.0 (https://opencv.org/opencv-4-5-0) - openjpeg is an optional dependency (enabled by default) since0384eb7d8cjpeg2000 can be enabled through openjpeg or jasper - pkg-config must be enabled with OPENCV_GENERATE_PKGCONFIG sincee755a2a6e4- cmake is not installed in /usr/share anymore so hook can be dropped - C++11 is required sinced4688e6474Signed-off-by: Fabrice Fontaine <fontaine.fabrice@gmail.com> [Arnout: remove a few redundant dependencies from Config.in] Signed-off-by: Arnout Vandecappelle (Essensium/Mind) <arnout@mind.be>

Buildroot is a simple, efficient and easy-to-use tool to generate embedded Linux systems through cross-compilation. The documentation can be found in docs/manual. You can generate a text document with 'make manual-text' and read output/docs/manual/manual.text. Online documentation can be found at http://buildroot.org/docs.html To build and use the buildroot stuff, do the following: 1) run 'make menuconfig' 2) select the target architecture and the packages you wish to compile 3) run 'make' 4) wait while it compiles 5) find the kernel, bootloader, root filesystem, etc. in output/images You do not need to be root to build or run buildroot. Have fun! Buildroot comes with a basic configuration for a number of boards. Run 'make list-defconfigs' to view the list of provided configurations. Please feed suggestions, bug reports, insults, and bribes back to the buildroot mailing list: buildroot@buildroot.org You can also find us on #buildroot on OFTC IRC. If you would like to contribute patches, please read https://buildroot.org/manual.html#submitting-patches
